There’s a common misconception that feeling lost is a sign that you’re doing something wrong. That you are just a feather in the wind.

Maybe you feel lost because you’re not where you want to be. Maybe it’s because you have been scrolling on social media where everyone seems to have it all figured out. Maybe everything is actually fine, but it feels like something is wrong.

Whatever the reason is, I’m glad you feel lost. Feeling lost doesn’t mean you’re failing. It’s a sign you’re pushing your limits. When your life is in a stage of change, the old, familiar map doesn’t work anymore.

You see, the comfort zone has clear paths. Growth doesn’t. Feeling lost just means you’re in unfamiliar territory, which is where the next version of you is built. Where you grow into a new person, rewriting the old map.

The people who never feel lost are the ones who never leave their comfort zone. So whenever you feel disoriented, remember this..

Don't get SaaD. Get Rippling.

Disconnected tools don’t speed you up – they slow you down. That’s SaaD (Software as a Disservice).

Rippling unifies HR, IT, and Finance so you can save time, cut costs, and grow faster.

Find out if you and your team are at risk of SaaD today.

You’re not lost, you’re leveling up. The problem today with feeling lost is that you can always numb your mind with cheap dopamine and endless entertainment. But I dare you to try and sit with it. I promise you, if you sit alone with only a pen and paper in a quiet room for an hour, you will find more answers in one hour than you will in 200 hours of scrolling.

Why? Because feeling lost forces your brain to try and search for several answers to a specific problem. And that problem is mostly where do you want to go in life and what are you meant to do.

We all have a dream. The problem is, we often make that dream about something tangible, like landing a specific job, traveling the world, or making a specific amount of money. But at the core of those dreams, there’s usually a feeling you want to manifest.

A sense of freedom.  Feelings of accomplishment. Happiness. These are our actual dreams. And whatever you’re chasing, the only way to realize that there is more than one way to get it is through feeling lost. From here on it’s your job to find those ways, but you will never find them if you don’t go and look for them.

It’s okay to feel lost. It’s okay to feel overwhelmed. But it’s not okay to stay in the same place you’re desperate to get out of.  So quit cutting the bait and get fishing. You might be frustrated that you don’t have as many answers in this stage of life as you thought you would.

You might feel like you’re not living, only existing. But nothing changes, if nothing changes. And you will never know the way of the road if you never dare to walk it.

Onto better things
